Recently there is a leaked video from Google (the video was suppose for internal use) that causing a huge debate among the internet users. Google Selfish Ledger is a 2016 video made inside the company that imagines a world where the company had so much data, it could map human behaviours, social issues, mental illness, and more.

In summary, this video that shared internally within Google team, imagines a future of total data collection, where they can helps nudge users into alignment with their goals, custom-prints personalised devices to collect more data, and even guides the behaviour of entire populations to solve global problems like poverty and disease. In the video, they mentioned that data can be see as the human behaviour DNA which can be pass down to your next generation and therefore predict their behaviour base on the data.
The prediction and be good in the sense of resolving the global issues like disease, but in “The Verge” video did mention that what if the data that has been collected will use for the propose of commercial? Another question arise will be the ethical topics that we should concern whether the data will be misuse for manipulation.
One single bit of data doesn’t represent anything, but when Google has the decades of data, in another way, they have the power of “God”.
